Tlahtolli is an evidence-based,15 session cultural and community
responsive curriculum that is part of Izcalli’s 30 year history
working with youth. The goal of the curriculum is to cultivate
circulo’s where youth are introduced to their cultural strengths,
learn how trauma impacts their life, and have spaces to grow,
learn, and develop self-awareness. The curriculum provides
numerous opportunities for youth to share their stories, build
community, and tap into the arts as a tool for healing and identity
development. The outcomes of the Tlahtolli curriculum shows a
strong sense of self, interpersonal skills, and a deepening
connection to the ancestors.
The training will be at a cost of $1,000.00 per participant.

AFTER THE 3 DAY
TRAINING, PARTICIPANTS WILL:
- Understand the philosophy of Indigenous restorative work.
- Learn how to implement restorative rites of passage
circulo’s with youth. - Receive curriculum and certification to facilitate the
Tlahtolli curriculum - Build community with a larger network of Circulo
facilitators. - The curriculum has been used in the 3rd largest District
in California (SDUSD) for over twenty years, in Chula Vista
School District, San Ysidro School District, and in several
charter schools and community centers in San Diego.
